Products & Inventory
Build a rich product catalog with variants, categories, attributes, and real-time inventory tracking.
Creating products
Go to Products → New Product. The product form includes:
Name
The product title shown in listings and the product page.
Description
Rich text editor with images, lists, and headings.
Price
Base selling price. Variants can override this.
Compare-at Price
Original price shown as strikethrough for sale items.
SKU
Internal stock-keeping unit. Must be unique per store.
Barcode
EAN-13 or UPC barcode for POS or warehouse scanning.
Inventory Count
Starting stock level. Required if Track Inventory is on.
Category
Main category for browsing and filtering.
Brand
Manufacturer or brand name.
Tags
Comma-separated tags for search and promotions.
Images
Up to 20 images per product. Drag to reorder.
SEO
Custom meta title, description, and URL slug.
Set the product Status to ACTIVE to make it visible on your storefront. Products in DRAFT status are only visible to admins.
Variants & options
Variants let you sell the same product in different configurations — for example a T-shirt in sizes S, M, L and colors Red, Blue. Each variant has its own:
- Price (can differ from the base price)
- SKU (stock-keeping unit)
- Inventory count
- Images (optional variant-specific images)
- Weight and dimensions
To add variants, open a product and click the Variants tab. You can define option types (e.g. "Size", "Color") and generate all combinations automatically.
Categories, brands & tags
Organize your catalog so customers can browse and filter effectively.
Categories
Hierarchical groupings (e.g. Clothing → Men's → T-Shirts). Each product can belong to one main category. Manage from Products → Categories.
Brands
Associate products with a brand or manufacturer. Useful for filtering and SEO. Manage from Products → Brands.
Tags
Free-form labels for flexible categorization and promotion targeting. Manage from Products → Tags.
Attribute sets
Attribute sets define a reusable group of product properties — for example a "Clothing" set might have Material, Fit, and Care Instructions. Assign an attribute set to a product to display those properties on the product page.
Manage attribute sets from Products → Attribute Sets and individual attributes from Products → Attributes.
Inventory tracking
Enable Track Inventory on a product to activate stock management. Once enabled, Shopvo will:
- Deduct inventory when an order is placed
- Block checkout if stock reaches 0 (unless you enable backorders)
- Send low-stock notifications to admins
- Reserve inventory at the start of checkout to prevent overselling
For multi-location inventory, go to Settings → Inventory Sources to define your warehouses and fulfillment centers.
Product reviews
Customers can leave star ratings and written reviews on products. Reviews are disabled by default on new stores. To enable them, go to Settings → Store and toggle Enable Reviews.
Review moderation is available from Products → Reviews. You can approve, reject, or reply to individual reviews. Approved reviews display publicly on the product page.
Bulk import & export
Go to Products → Import / Export to:
- Download a CSV template for your catalog
- Upload a CSV to create or update products in bulk
- Export your full catalog (with variants) as CSV
CSV imports support all product fields including variants, images (via URL), categories, and inventory.
